The new Ancient Milton Keynes Gallery at Milton Keynes Museum
Join me at Milton Keynes Museum to check out their new Ancient Milton Keynes Gallery
[PR Invite] I was so chuffed to be invited to the launch of the new gallery at Milton Keynes Museum. The Museum is a big part of our shared family time and we visited 'the Real Santa' at their Victorian Christmas event every year.
I got to meet Iggy the Ichthyosaur who was found right here in Milton Keynes.
We think about Milton Keynes as being a new city, but actually it has history that goes back to the bronze age and back even before the dinosaurs and all of that is displayed in the new gallery.
It's small, but there is so much in here and everything has been found in Milton Keynes, which makes the exhibition extra special. What other museum can you go to and see things that were found just a few miles from the museum itself? As well as the excellent displays, a big shout-out for the signage, which is informative, but also has many jokes and fun facts littered around too.
I have fun spinning the wheel of Roman coins with over 4,000 coins in their collection. They chose some of them to be part of this wheel. You can spin the wheel to choose a coin which you can then find out more about. You can also flip the coin so you can see both sides of it.
Other galleries in the Milton Keynes Museum cover other aspects of life in Milton Keynes as well as a telecoms gallery, a street of shops, school and more. There's also a tearoom, so you can get refreshments after you've been to visit Iggy.
Your ticket covers entry throughout the year, so once you've bought it you can come back as many times as you like and the Museum has a great series of events throughout the year.
